This season has started well we have a new driver to add to are team ,in the S class we have Lee Allen and Craig Freeman and Kevin Oconner still in the club class .Craig only a novice to racing has settled in to the S class car and is improving every time he is out in the car.
Rockingham Race Weekend
Our first race weekend could not of gone better with Lee Allen dominating the S class by winning class wins in all three races and fastest laps and now leading the championship.Craig Freeman drove well to have a forth but was unlucky in last race when driveshaft started to fail.Kevin Oconner was also able to have two class wins in the clubs .We look forward to our next meeting at Snetterton.
Snetterton Race Weekend
First race went well with lee taking second overall and first in class ,craig fighting hard to keep with the front running pack,and kevin coming third in club class .Race two lee crashed out fighting for the lead,and craig having his best drive so far finishing second in class his first podium.Kevin ever improving came second in club.The final race was very hard for lee as had to fight through the pack and finishing first in class with a very damaged car,craig finishing forth. as before kevin ever improving took class win.
Oulton Race Weekend
First race did not go well lee and craig both not finishing ,kevin also had a poor start and had to chase the pack down.Race two, cars rebuilt and a bad crash at the start of the race brought the safety car out for all but the last lap in which lee managed to move from second to third craig finishing forth,kevin also not getting any luck finished fifth.Last race and it proved to be our teams best race result with lee finishing first and craig second and kevin first in club . We also had another car running under our banner which we prepared his car after beating him at snetterton,and Chris managed a brilliant first and second in the first two races and due to damage retired out of race three. On to Pembrey kevin and craigs home circuit.
Pembrey race weekend
Not your usual welsh weather very hot,lee giving it all taking all three wins in class ,craig having good first race but disaster struck with an engine power problem which kept him out of the next two races .Kevin having two seconds and a fifth not the best for the welsh duo but ready to fight again at castle combe.
Castle Combe race weekend
lee dominating s class all weekend taking all three wins ,craig running well but stuggling with speed of the circuit but running in forth and then gatting to grips with it and finishing the next two with two solid 3rds .Kevin good 1st race take 1st and then being taken out in the second but managing to bring it home in forth.the third race kevin drove his heart out and won the third race. A good weekend for the team after a poor welsh weekend coming away with eight trophies as lee also got driver of th weekend.
Brands Hatch race weekend
Lee's home and favorite circuit winning 1st race and then engine fault in the second race dropped him back to the rear of the pack ,undetured he drove back through to finish 2nd and another fastest lap.The third race lee fighting with front runners runs wide at paddock again having to fight through the pack for another 2nd and fastest lap putting thee poimts behind Luke cuudal for the title fight.Craig getting it together on this tight twisty cicuit managing a 5th and two 4ths.Kevin getting a tough fight all the way in the clubs but managed a 3rd, 2nd and a fifth. And yet again we have Gary Kounnis back with us but in a club class staying out of trouble buried it at clearways and then managing two forths.
Thurxton race weekend
This is it the final race weekend and the tense battle for the championship ,lee knowing he has to get pole in class and win all three with fastest laps a tough order ,but thats what he did leaving it to luke to fight for the championship against the other R56 which give him a hard three races which he dropped to third in the second race which ment lee just need to finish level with him to take the championship as now we are three points in front .Craigs car seeming to be down on power and finding difficult to stay with them ,during second race his gear box looses gears finishing with only 4th and 5th a quick turn around by the team to replace engine and box to get him out in the last race .and having forth and fifth finishes and third in S class.Not bad for his 1st full season in motorsport.Kevin yet again having a tough weekend with a 4th a 1st and being taken out on the last race going for 1st but keeping 2nd club class for the end of season.And not forgetting Gary Kounnis back again in a club taking three podiums with a 3rd,2nd and a first.
well what a year having all drivers finishing in the top three of their classes and Lee being overall champion ,it sounds great to say 2010 mini challenge champions . I would like to thank my team members who with out them it would never of happened my wife for putting up with me when it got tough and everyone who heiped sussex road and race. And a big thankyou to the drivers for being with us Lee Allen 2010 champion,S class champion,Craig Freeman 3rd in S class and Kevin oconner 2nd in club class
